M365 Update

(Updated) New Feature: Outlook on the web, new editor capabilities

Updated June 9, 2020: To ensure the best possible experience for our users, we are delaying some of our deployments to reduce the amount of change flowing into the services. Please see the updated roll-out timeline belowYour end users who enjoy Outlook on the web will soon have new tools to help refine their email messages.

  • We’ll be gradually rolling this out to Targeted Release customers in early April 2020.
  • The rollout will be completed for Standard Release customers by the end of July (previously May).

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 59642.

How does this affect me?

When your end users are composing an email message in Outlook for the web, they will see suggestions to help them communicate better, such as recommendations for spelling, grammar, and refinements to communicate more concisely. This new feature in Outlook is powered by Microsoft Editor. Users can turn off the feature if they like when they composing an email message.

What do I need to do to prepare for this change?

You might consider updating your user training and documentation. See Check spelling, grammar, and clarity in Outlook.com and Outlook on the web.
