Key Features of the New Outlook

Pin Important Emails

In the new Outlook, you can pin your important emails. This allows you to keep crucial messages at the top of your inbox for easy access, ensuring you never miss an important update.

Snooze Emails

The snooze function is another handy feature. If you receive an email that you can’t address immediately, you can snooze it to reappear in your inbox at a later time. This helps you manage your time effectively and handle emails when it’s most convenient for you.

Schedule Emails

The new Outlook also allows you to schedule emails to be sent at a later time. This is particularly useful for business owners who want to send emails at optimal times for their recipients, even if those times don’t align with their own working hours.

Access Categories Quickly

See category names and colours directly on your messages in your inbox. To view everything tagged with a specific category, simply click on it right from your message. You can also add categories to your Favorites for quick access.

Personalise Your Outlook

If you’ve switched from classic Outlook or the Mail app, you can migrate some settings. Find Settings via the gear icon in the upper right corner or make quick updates under the View tab. Changes in the new Outlook for Windows will also reflect in Outlook on the web.

All Your Accounts in One Place

Most email accounts like Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, iCloud, and IMAP are supported. Transition smoothly without losing access to your existing emails, contacts, and calendars. Just select Add account at the bottom of your folder list or in Settings under Accounts. Then mark folders, categories, or contacts as Favourites for quick access at the top of the list.

Customise Commands in the Ribbon

The ribbon (top bar) contains commands to manage your inbox or format emails. Use the dropdown arrow on the right to switch between the classic and simplified ribbon, then select Customise to personalise commands in the simplified ribbon.

Navigation Bar and My Day

The navigation bar on the left lets you easily switch to Calendar, Contacts, or other frequently used apps. For quick access to your calendar or tasks without leaving the inbox, use My Day by selecting the icon in the upper right.
